Ok, this is my first income report. I have been slack, I haven’t been posting my results. Centsable One has been much more diligent in this regard. But now it’s time…I have enough income streams to start reporting on what I’ve done, and what I’ve made. Here goes:
Blog – Arthritic Chick
As mentioned briefly on this website, I have Rheumatoid Arthritis. It’s a nasty little disease, and its impacts my ability to work. It’s the main reason I am exploring making money online rather than just getting a job. So I have been working on this blog and using online marketing and SEO to increase traffic.
I hope to make some money from advertisements that I run on the website.
The traffic is improving, but the ad clicks are low.
Adsense didn’t give me many clicks in May. For a total of $0.40. Still it’s a start.
I also use infolinks on the Rheumatoid Arthritis blog. Slightly more clicks here – for a total income of $1.15.
Total for Arthrtic Chick blog: $1.55
Online store – Pilates DVDs
I made one sale. For a profit of $7.40.
Total for Pilates DVDS: $7.40
Kindle ebook sales
As noted I finally uploaded my first ebook this month. I haven’t done any promotion, short of notifying my facebook friends that they could buy it. 4 people did. I priced it at $0.99, and my cut is 35%. So my cut here is $1.40.
Total for Kindle ebook: $1.40
TOTAL INCOME FOR MAY: $10.35
I know, don’t spend it all at once! But it’s a start. It is way better than nothing, and for all online ventures, or business ventures in general, in the beginning you do a lot of work for very little return. But over time, you recoup. Or that’s the theory.
Obviously my online store is giving me the best bang for my buck…for now. I do absolutely nothing to promote this site right now. I just don’t have time. Between my marriage breakdown, working on financial settlements, and my rheumatoid arthritis, I haven’t done nearly as much as I’d hoped this month.
I have done a lot of ground work , however. The blog is kicking along nicely, though I tend to post in bursts, when I am feeling well. I am going to try and do a regular two posts per week.
I am also going to do some promotion on the pilates dvds website. Each sale is pure $7.40 profit. Yes, I have to package it and take it down to the post office. But this isn’t hard. Even on one of my worst days, I can manage that. So I need to increase sales. I will do this via working on my facebook page, and blogging to get more traffic to the website.
As for the kindle ebooks, my target this month is to get a second story written. (I have the plot in my head, I just need to get it down on paper). And more importantly start promoting the current story. I need to create an author page for myself, and look at methods of promotion.
I will, ofcourse, blog about all of these things as they happen. And report on how effective, or otherwise, my promotional efforst are. So stay tuned!
