The progress bars over there will show you which methods of income are working for me at the moment. They represent a monthly income. The goal is to get to $1000 a month.
As you can see, we’re a very long way away from that.
I’m a single mother with a disabling illness (Rheumatoid Arthritis amongst other things) raising two teenagers with health problems of their own.
I am no longer able to work a ‘normal’ job, due to my Rheumatoid Arthritis, which means I live on the Disability Support Pension. This is hardly the life I dreamed of, and before I became ill, I was a highly paid web developer, married to a highly paid computer engineer, and life was good.
Now, not so much.
I find myself living on a low income, very much dependent on my ex-husband’s child support. Not a comfortable position to be in, so I am setting about changing that. In three years, my kids will both be over 18, and that money will disappear. So my goal is to replace that income, and I’ll have to do it from my wheelchair and without full use of my hands.
Difficult, right? But not impossible, because I am not without skills. I have design skills, computer skills and writing skills. So I intend to take all of that, and create an income stream. And then use my brain to learn about investing, and turn that income stream into a bigger income stream.
Are you with me? Here we go.
